Spare space

For some homeowners, having a property is more about the space they could have. Apartments tend to be on the smaller side; there could be some that are incredibly spacious, but those are the exception. If you want a property with a yard, the houses are your thing.

Decks and the like? Most often found in houses. Some apartments complexes can come with balconies and parks, but these are sparse in certain locations. If you want to have spare space, then a house is best for you. There are certain commodities you need to consider when it comes to picking apartments or houses. Some of them are so small that you’ll rarely consider them important until you need them. For example, parking spot availability. Most apartments come with one or two parking spots, but in smaller or shared buildings, it can be one or none. On the other side, houses often come with several parking spots, and some neighborhoods even allow to park on the curb.

Residential security is also important when picking one or the other. Why is this important? Because security is fundamental for a comfortable living. Some buildings offer a guard at the door, or CCTV to protect their tenants. And houses provide CCTV too, although alarm systems and security often depend on the person that lives on the property.   

Views

If you love a good view, then an apartment in a privileged location is perfect for you. In some neighborhoods, you can find amazing views, but nothing beats the incredible sights from a balcony in most modern buildings. This is for a good reason: most architects create buildings based on having these spectacular views, and they are part of the rental or buying price.

Some houses can compete with sky-high views though: you can find neighborhoods that lookout at lakes, mountains or forests! But without a doubt, it all depends on your personal preferences, as there are a variety of reasons to pick one or other when it comes to views.
